Gianni & Fanny Basta

Dr. Fanny Cruz- Basta is a Christian author and acclaimed Bible teacher. She has been a diplomat, a missionary, a business owner, and a relief worker. She also works with families and executives in the marketplace as a financial advisor in collaboration with a Fortune 500 company. In this role, she combines her passion for helping others with her love for economics. Through all these careers, Fanny has had the same goal and motivation: to share with others the power to redeem and transform that comes from Jesus Christ and to encourage others to deepen their relationship with Him.

After meeting Jesus personally while on a dentist’s chair in the Caribbean as a teenager, Fanny moved to Italy to work as a diplomat in her country’s embassy. There, God called her to become a missionary. Fanny responded, leaving her job and starting a faith adventure that brought her to work with addicts in the streets of Milan, with students in public high schools, and with organized crime networks in Naples.

Fanny, a doctorate in Managerial Economics, has been married to Gianni Basta for more than three decades. Gianni, an accomplished musician, grew up in a Christian family in South Italy who hosted the first evangelical church in their town. He learned to live and thrive in his faith even if, at one point, he was the only young person in his church or school.

Gianni and Fanny also served as directors of WEC International for Latin America, training Latinos to go to the least evangelized people in the world. She also founded the Pathways program and collaborated with IMB (International Mission Board) to equip tent-makers to plant churches while working in secular jobs in the States and overseas.

In addition, Gianni and Fanny are still passionate about Europe, often taking teams to teach about the History of Christianity and strengthen churches there.

Gianni and Fanny live in the Greater Philadelphia area in the USA. They have 3 children and a beautiful granddaughter.
