About Dr. Fanny Basta
Dr. Fanny Cruz-Basta is a devoted Christian author and respected Bible teacher. With a diverse background that includes roles as a diplomat, missionary, business owner, and community worker, she is passionate about guiding others in their faith journeys.
Fanny’s mission is to help people experience transformation through a relationship with Jesus Christ. After coming to faith during her teenage years, she felt called to ministry, inspiring her to serve God in various capacities.
Her academic achievements include a doctorate in Ecomics, and she has played a significant role in Christian education, particularly through her involvement with Pathways, a program that equips individuals for ministry across different contexts.

How Do You Know God Is Real?
The first time I wondered about God was in my natal Dominican Republic. As a child, I grew up on my parents’ farm. It was pure fun every day—swimming in our river, riding horses, and playing with other children. In the afternoons, I had a favorite tree where I would lie on the grass and wait for sunset. The heavens would fall with colors – What a splendor! And during those tropical evenings, I loved to lie down and gaze at the stars. There’s nothing more beautiful than a tropical night, with a cool breeze refreshing the air and a sky full of stars!
It was then that I first knew for sure that God existed. I remember going home and asking my mom: “Who created all this?” Her simple answer was: “God did.”
